NATIONAL PARK

 

Lake Manyara National Park lies only 30 minutes by car from Plantation Lodge. The lake covers two-thirds of the area of this small park which offers impressive variety. Elephants seek shelter from the sun under the leaves, on the branches sit blue monkeys and many birds, including the conspicuous hornbill. Baboons constantly cross one’s path. Where the Simba River widens hippos lie resting in the hippo pool. Flamingos and pelicans can be seen on the lake’s edge. The park’s main attraction are the tree lions which show themselves to the lucky visitor.
